Fat Fiction: Forget Everything You’ve Been Told About Fat

Here at The RESTART® Program, we are proud to share that Jennifer Isenhart, the creator and director of the film Fat Fiction was inspired to take action after she took a RESTART® class.

“The RESTART® Program changed my health for the better, and the health of my family and friends. It launched my interest in the history of the US Dietary Guidelines and was the genesis point for the film, FAT FICTION.”  ~ Jennifer Isenhart, Director of FAT FICTION

There’s great buzz about a new documentary called FAT FICTION, a film that was written and directed by Jennifer Isenhart.  Narrated by Dr. Mark Hyman, FAT FICTION dives into the flawed research behind the current US dietary guidelines.

From the film’s website:

“What if everything we’ve been told about saturated fat is fiction? And  what if the “low fat, heart healthy” diet represents one of the most damaging public health recommendations in the history of our country?

FAT FICTION (formerly known as BIG FAT LIE) is a film that questions decades of diet advice insisting that saturated fats are bad for us. Along the way, we’ll reveal the lies we’ve been told about fats, learn what fats are good, what fats are bad, and what we can do to reclaim our health.”

There are many key experts featured in the film including Dr. Sarah Hellburg, obesity expert, Dr. Jason Fung, nephrologist and author of the Obesity Code, and Professor Tim Noakes, author of the Lore of Running, as well as many more in the realm of medicine and nutrition. These doctors and experts explore the history of the research that made up our country’s dietary guidelines of a low fat and high carb diet, and take a critical look at how this may have been the cause of many of our country’s health issues. They look at solutions, through diet and lifestyle choices, and give the viewer information and education on how to approach those changes with the help of their practitioners. Definitely a documentary to see and share!

You can purchase or rent the film on Amazon.
